An unplanned Visita Iglesia again. That’s how we roll. It’s like that every single year.
And for Holy Week ‘13 we went to Marian Orchard at Balete, Batangas. A little use of Google Maps and ‘tanong-tanong’ from the very accommodating Batanguenos helped us get there with around two hours of driving time.
With just an entrance fee of PHP 25.00, you’ll get to experience and unwind in the calmness of the orchard that’s perfect for reflecting this Lenten Season.
The chapel will welcome you as you enter the park.
A beautiful garden set-up covers the place. My mom really liked the flowers and plantation. And that’s me trying to do some photography and obviously I don’t have the eye for it.
Probably, the most unique and exciting Station of the Cross I’ve encountered. Yes, trekking! It’s like having your own Penitensya. Good thing I was on my sneakers, but unfortunately we didn’t finished the stations because of the rain.
Mama Mary Chapel that has a very dramatic and Greek-ish entourage. Mama said this would be great for a wedding, especially when the bride’s walking down the aisle. On the side, there’s monkeys and love birds that are a joy to watch.
Me enjoying a bottle of Buko shake. Want some? 🙂
Before we went home, we dropped by Sto. Nino de Cebu Parish at CSA (Aaahh feels like home!), San Isidro Labrador Parish Church, and Mother of Perpetual Help at Heaven’s Park to finish the remaining stations. Such a fulfilling day. It’s nice to see fellow Catholics still practicing the traditions.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever. ✞
